Wherever you go, go with all your heart. ~Confucius
I am writing this blog for myself, as a way for me to organize my thoughts and record my journey through Africa. It is now the start of a new year and in 6 months I hope to be on a plane to Senegal to meet up with my sister and her husband for a 6 month back pack trip around Western and Eastern Africa. I have been living in Australia for the last year or two with my boyfriend. I am really proud of him for stepping out of his cultural comfort zone. I have started to realize the importance of defining yourself rather then letting others define you and I think travel is the perfect way to become more of who you are. When everything around you is unstable and changing, you begin to notice the things that stay the same, the things that are essentially you. Enough with the philosophy. My next few blogs will about practical preparations that will need to be made before the trip as well as my thoughts and feelings pre-Africa. Here is to stepping off the edge and falling head over heals into the unknown. Cheers,
Monet
